Kung Fu, (also known as Wushu or Martial arts by most foreigners) is one of the most well known examples of traditional Chinese culture with a history of thousands years. It is probably one of the longest lasting traditional Chinese physical activities which utilize both brawn and brain. As a precious element of China’s cultural heritage, Chinese Kung Fu has also won its name all around the world for its broad and deep meaning and its Oriental features, which cover it with a mysterious veil. Chinese Kung Fu has become a international sport that all the people around the world can learn and use to attain its inherent benefits. Nowadays, Kung Fu has developed into a sport to improve one’s health, fitness, reaction time, jumping ability, balance, flexibility, coordination, power and speed except for the means of self-defense. Kung Fu is divided into tens of thousands of different External and Internal styles. It is said that “In external Kung Fu, you exercise your tendons, bones and skin; In internal Kung Fu, you train your spirit and your mind”. History of Chinese Kung Fu
Exactly when the Chinese Kung Fu first sprouted is unknown. It is estimated that Chinese Kung Fu can be dated back to the primeval society. At that time in order to protect themselves from being hurt by wild beasts, gradually they accumulated experience of self defense. This original technique is the rudiment of Chinese Kung Fu.
Kung Fu shaped up in slave society. In order to adapt the battle, Cheinese Kung Fu developed more applied and canonical. During Shang and Zhou period, the theory of Tai Chi Chuan is came into being. In Qin and Han Dynasty, wrestling, swordplay as well as martial arts dancing were very popular. The application of spear play in Han Dynasty reached its summit together with many other techniques of spear usage. Tang Dynasty starts the Kung Fu examination, which largely propel the development of martial arts. At that time, Kung Fu was gradually introduced to Southeast Asia, so today Kung Fu were honored as the ancestor of kickboxing, karate, aikido and judo. The development of Kung Fu achieved the climax in Song and Yuan Dynasties. Practice of Kung Fu by civil organizations became more and more popular. Some organizations or clubs sprang up thriftily. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, Chinese Kung Fu achieved larger development. A lot of genres shaped and a mass of books on martial arts were published. In Qing Dynasty, tens of schools of martial arts came into being, such as Tai Chi Quan, Xingyi etc. In modern times, Kung Fu turned into a part of Chinese gymnastic. In 1927, Central National Martial Arts Society was established. In 1936, Chinese Martial Arts Team went to Berlin to participate Olympics. In 1999, International Martial Arts League become the formal member of International Individual Events Federation in Olympic Games. It implies the Chinese Kung Fu is walking toward the whole world step by step.

Choy Li Fut:
Choy Li Fut is one the most powerful styles of Chinese Kung Fu, which depends on the powerful hand and arm techniques. You should pay more attention to four main hand techniques: the straight punch, the back fist, the uppercut and the hook punch. It incorporates the oriental medicine and western philosophy. Speed, balance and power are all important elements in this style of Kung Fu, which also combines hard and soft techniques. Many full contact fighters follow this system.
Tai Chi Chuan
With a history of 300 years, Tai Chi Chuan is a Taoist martial art for both internal power and longevity. The term “Tai Chi” means the ancient Chinese cosmological concept of the interplay between two opposite yet complementary forces (Yin and Yang). Tai Chi Quan is the right management of Yin techniques and Yang techniques to achive a balance between yielding and attacking. It is the reason that Tai Chi Chuan is described as “a needle hidden in cotton” or “hardness concealed in softness”
Wing Chun
Wing Chun is a style of Southern Chinese Martial arts originating in Fujian Province. It came to front until the mid twentieth century. While multiple histories of the art do exist, the general accepted version is thus: The roots of Wing Chun can be traced back to 250 years ago to the Southern Shaolin Temple. At that time, the temple was a sanctuary to the Chinese revolution that trying to overthrow the ruling Manchu. A classical martial arts system was taught in the temple which took 15-20 years to produce an efficient fighter, popularized by Bruce Lee.
Qigong
With the origin of approximately 2’500 years, Qigong is an invaluable component of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement and meditation to cleanse, strengthen and circulate the life energy. Qigong practice leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind.

Huo Yuanjia was a famous patriot adept at Mizong Quan (also named Yanqin Quan)
Huang Feihong was a great master of Wushu field in South of Qinling. His stunts were Tiexian Quan, Wuying Jiao etc.
Bruce Lee, Jackie Chen and Jet Li are well-known Chinese Kung Fu Actors, who take an important role in popularizing the traditional Chinese Kong Fu throughout the world.
