We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Ramoche Temple

Ramoche Temple(小昭寺) is located in the north of Lhasa, Beijing Road Ramoche Temple Road. It was built in 641 AD. Although the size and reputation of Ramoche Temple is not larger than the Jokhang Temple, it has a different taste.

Ramoche Temple had combined the Chinese and Tibetan architectural style and architectural features. It was built by Han craftsmen who was originally brought to Tibet by Princess Wen Cheng. So the early Ramoche Temple had a clear Han and Tang style. Lhasa local people called it "remuqi", meaning "the Chinese." Burnt and rebuilt several times, the style of the Ramoche Temple has long been assimilated Tibetan history after the completion.

Compared to other temples in Lhasa, Ramoche Temple seems rather small. The main building of Ramoche Temple is the front hall and a gatehouse, turning back to the profile and other ancillary facilities. There are three main hall. The lobby, scripture hall and the Buddha-hall are at the bottom. There are small rooms on both sides of the lobby. The right one is the room to place the musical instruments used in a Buddhist mass. The left one is a side hall in which presented a statue.

In addition Ramoche Temple, you can wander on the shopping road in front of Ramoche Temple. There are locals’ butchers, shops and tea houses, etc. on the shopping road. While roaming the meantime, you can feel Lhasa locals’ marketplace of life.

Add: Ramoche Temple Road, Chengguan District of Lhasa
