Grand Hotel Beijing

In the old days, the Forbidden City and its massive red walls was called the "Innermost City". The ancient residents of the inner city could have never expected that today, a 5-star hotel, the Grand Hotel, Beijing, would be erected on the grounds of the former Imperial City. You will fall in love after reaching the upper-deck lobby where the atrium a la Portman receives you in marbled splendour with an artsy zodiac fountain, portraying the Water Scenery of the Royal Garden. Memories of the Old World at night abound, when the pianist fills the air with Chopin and Strauss.

Location
The Grand Hotel, Beijing is superbly located on Beijing's main thoroughfare, East Chang'an Avenue. It lies just a several minutes walking distance from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Wangfujing, currently being re-developed as the capital's premier shopping district, is only a couple of minutes walking to the east. The Beijing Railway station is only ten minutes away by car, while the new West Railway Station is 30 minutes away.

Rooms
The Grand Hotel, Beijing offers 218 rooms and suites including Standard, Palace View rooms, Ambassador and Presidential Suite, and an Emperor's suite. All are elegantly furnished and conveniently equipped. An "East meets West" motif exists in all rooms. Many rooms offer views over the Forbidden City, down into the spacious Atrium, or of Chang'an boulevard.

Some rooms are fitted with fax machines and high speed Internet Access while other rooms have bathing facilities in marble and brass and complimentary designer toiletries which will help soothe away the tension of long-distance travel, negotiations, and sightseeing.
