We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Beijing Far East Hotel was one of the only big traditional name hotels in Beijing, constructed in 1940. The Far East Hotel was pointed two stars hotel in 1992. Unlike the high-rises, Far East International Hotel is a typical Chinese Hotel providing a chance of harmony and coziness.

Newly renovated in 2002. And the reception staff can speak fluent English.

Location
Beijing Far East Hotel located in the center of the city. Outside the hotel lies a very common Beijing Hutong (lane) lined with all kinds of small privately own stores like groceries, CD stores, Tailor workshop,etc. 5 minutes walk along the lane to the north is the famous culture street - Liulichang street. Following the Liulichang street to the east, one could easily find the Da Zha Lan area, once the most popular shopping area in Beijing, which is located next to the famous Tian'anmen Square, the very center of the city center.

3 km to the Wangfujing Shopping area, andd 4 km to Beijing Railway Station.
