Pick up from your midtown hotel in Hangzhou and head to Curved Yard and Lotus Pool in Summer. it is one of the top ten scenic spots in Hangzhou. The Lotus Pool and Curved Yard used to be a vinery planted with many lotuses. Curved Yard was at its best in summer when the breeze blows over the scented with delicate fragrance of lotus intermingled with the tasteful bouquet of wine. Now the garden has been widened to cover 5 sections - Yue Lake, Bamboo Garden, Lotus Garden, Winding Garden and Lakeside Forest. Then move on to Guozhuang Garden ( Guo' Villa ) by the west bank of West Lake. The private garden was built in 1851 and opened to the public in 1991. The villa faces Su Causeway to its east, commanding a distant view of the Su Causeway, Baoshu Hill. The villa type garden is composed of two sections - Living in Quietness, where the owner lived and the Sky in the Mirror garden, with a pond surrounded by roofed corridors, bridges, rockwork, trees and flowers. Continue to visit Huagang Park (Fish Viewing at the Flower Pond). The Huagang Park was a private garden of an official in the Southern Song Dynasty about 800 years agao. Now it has been greatly renovated and turned into large park of over 20 hectares (about 49.42 acres) made up of five scenic spots; namely, Red Carp Pond, peony park, flower harbor, lawn, and grove. It is a peninsula projecting into the lake. Viewing red fish at the Red Carp Pond is the highlight of the park tour.
After Chinese lunch, you are taken to Long Bridge Park, The Long Bridge Park is located at the southeast corner of West Lake. It is just a few centimetres above the water, a sight to give you much fantasy. The Long Bridge is Not Long. The park has a good view of Leifeng Pagoda and West Lake. Pavilions, rocks, bridges, greens and gardens are dotted here and there. It is a featuring garden along the south-east corner of West Lake. Finally walk to Orioles Singing in the Willows, Once an imperial garden in the Southern Song Dynasty, Orioles Singing in the Willows is on the east south bank of West Lake. The park is named after the pier (Liulang Pier) and the bridge (Liulang Bridge). Orioles Singing in the Willows is cited as one of the Ten Views of the West Lake.
