I have just returned from Guilin, China after spending 4 days at the Guilin Bravo Hotel. The hotel’s staff was very friendly and helpful. After traveling extensively in China, I can easily say the level of service in this hotel is superior compared with many others I have stayed at. We stayed in a deluxe lake-view room, which was very nicely decorated and very clean. The view across Rong Lake was nice and the location to nearby Zhongshan Road meant it is very busy to get around to other areas in central Guilin. If you are decide to venture out and try some of the local restaurants, the hotel is only 5 minutes walk from a fantastic “eat-street” offering many different Chinese cuisines. Just ask at the hotel reception and they can steer you in the right directionWe also arranged a tour guide & driver through the hotel a couple of times. They were very friendly and helpful, ensuring our day-trips were well-organized and comfortable. Whilst I currently reside in China and am familiar with the varying standards of hotels here, I could definitely recommend this hotel to foreigners on a holiday trip to the south of China. Many staff spoke very good English and always willing to help us with any of our requests. Usually I'm not one for hotel lobby gift shops, but surprisingly, the largest of the 3 gift shops (right opposite the elevator) had some tasteful souvenirs, at fairly standard prices (and not inflated 500% over what you pay in the nearby night market).

Lovely hotel overlooking Banyan Lake and the city, can be quite noisy - my room overlooked the lake & the entrance to the hotel, even though I was on quite a high floor the road was fairly noisy which passes the hotel around the lake, lots of beeping etc. Fab location, within walking distance to the main town and lots of other smaller shops nearby. Great massage centre if you come out of the hotel & go over the bridge over the lake, turn right into a car park towards a big building, foot massage was fantastic, foot bath, massage, leg, thigh, shoulder, back and head massage too and was bliss. Did the evening lake tour - good fun but all a bit 'Disney' really! Bright lights, barbie pink pagodas, replica bridges, opera etc. but still worth doing!
