Itinerary:

Pick up from your hotel in Guangzhou round 8:30am and head to Kaiping, 120km south of Guangzhou. Kaiping is well known for its the multi-storeyed defensive village houses which showcases a complex and flamboyant mix of Chinese and Western structural and decorative forms ( World Heritage 2007). Kaiping Diaolou were first built in late Ming Dynasty and were booming in early 1920s with the development of overseas Chinese.

Today, about 1,800 diaolou remain standing in Kaiping. Although the diaolou used to serve mainly as protection against forays by bandits, a few of them also served as living quarters.

After the tour, you are returned to your hotel in Guangzhou. Lunch included.
