We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Day 01
Midtown Hotel Beijing - Simatai Great Wall - The Chateau
Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Beijing in the early morning around 8:00am. Get to the Simatai Great Wall around 10:00. This part of your treking is one of the most beautiful sections of the Great Wall. Today's hike is focused on the east section of the Simatai Great Wall - 12 towers. Actually there are totally 16 watchtowers distributed on the Simatai Great Wall snaking the ridge of the steep mountain. The 13th-16th towers are forbidden to hike due to their steepness and treacherousness.



After 2-3 hours hiking, head to the Chateau Changyu AFIP Global Beijing for a romantic lunch. Then check in at the Small Resort Hotels Europe inside the Chateau for the night. Dinner is not included.



After lunch, you are arrangd to visit the Chateau museum, have wine tasting, DIY and have leisure time on your own to tour the small Eropean style town and wine planting area.

The Chateau - Midtown Hotel in Beijing
After breakfast, you have a free and leisure morning on your own. Check-out at noon and transferred back to your midtown hotel in Beijing. The service ends.

The local vendors make a living by selling bottled water, postcards, tourist books, T-shirts and souvenirs at higher prices. You are not obligated to buy from them but it can be hard to make them go away. If you don't want to buy anything, tipping is expected.
