Tour Description
Pick from your hotel in Beijing around 8:00am and drive to the Simatai Great Wall. This part of your treking is one of the most beautiful sections of the Great Wall. Today's hike is focused on the east section of the Simatai Great Wall - 12 towers. Actually there are totally 16 watchtowers distributed on the Simatai Great Wall snaking the ridge of the steep mountain. The 13th-16th towers are forbidden to hike due to their steepness and treacherousness. For most Simatai Great Wall lovers, people prefer to hike up the Great Wall, then take the cable car down. Don't forget to stop and look around to enjoy the fall foliage on the surrounding mountains!
After Chinese lunch, continue to the Miyun Reservoir. Lying 100 km northeast of Beijing City, it is a mountain valley reservoir. Two main rivers, Chaohe and Baihe, enter Miyun Reservoir. Taking a walk around the reservoir in the valley to see the beautiful scenery. These valleys are peaceful and picturesque with small villages, dusty tracks, crab-apple orchards and plots of maize and peanuts. You can walk further where you want to go with tall mountains towering above you. Autumn changes foliage into the colorful world - a nice place to see fall foliage. After the visit to Miyun Reservoir, return to your hotel in downtown Beijing.
