Itinerary:
Pick-up from your hotel and transferred to Beijing Cooking School in the morning. You are arranged to learn a few different dishes and see how they are made from beginning to end, learning the secrets of excellent Chinese cooking. You will prepare one dish yourself with the help from the experts of the school. This is a hands on learning experience. You will have the three dishes as your lunch at the school canteen.

After lunch, go to visit a local market, where the locals do shopping in preparation for the meals at home. After the market tour, move on to one of the branches of the time-honored store - Daoxiangcun Foodstuffs Store. The store used to a designated light snack factory-styled store catered to the royal family or governmental officials in Qing Dynasty. Now it has become one of the local residents's must-havoure snacks of Beijing.

Then head to Beijing Gaobeidian Village, about 10 km away from the center of Beijing. First visit the Tonghui River ( a part of man-made ancient Beijing-Hangzhou Great Canal dug one thousand years ago). Then visit Gaobeidian 1500 meter-long Classic Furniture Street which holds over 300 traditional classic furniture workshops, seeing people how to make classic furniture. Continue to go on visiting Gaobeidian Chinese Folk Custom Park with Hu-tong layout, along which are 208 old-fashioned stores,the biggest folk style handicraft market in Beijing. Finally visit a local famer's house, talking with the locals, having tea, taking part in making the dinner-dumpling and having dinner with the family. Arter the end of the tour, transferred back to the hotel down town.

Booking Note:

1.The cooking lesson is a nice experience, but not for high level cooking. This is really for people who don't have an idea at all about Chinese cooking. It is really baisc!
2.The family and the meal at Gaobeidian Village is nice, but the tour of Gaobeidian is more of a village than a suburb or a countryside.
