Chongqing Tour

Now Chongqing is one of the four municipalities directly controlled by the central governent (the other three being Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin). Formerly part of Sichuan Province, it was separated from Sichuan Province and became a municipality 14 March 1997. It is possibly the world's largest municipality with a population of 31.4 million and an area of of 82,300 km².

Chongqing is one of the cities notable for history and culture in China with its glory as the wartime capital during the Anti-Japanese War. Chongqing also notably works as the economic centre of the Upstream Yangtze area.

1. The weather in Chongqing
Chongqing has a four-season humid subtropical climate with monsoonal influences. Chongqing is very hot summer being one of the "Three Furnaces" in China with highs of 33 to 34 °C (91 to 93 °F) in August. Chongqing's summers can be fiercely hot, so bring sunblock, but bring an umbrella too: heavy rain can fall at any time of the year.

Winters are somewhat mild, but with many foggy days. Foggy weather is most prevalent during spring and winter days, hence the nickname of "the Fog Capital". The best time to visit Chongqing, for most people would choose spring and autumn.

3.Dialect in Chongqing
The locals in Chongqing speak Sichuan dialect (or Sichuanese) which is a variation of south-western Mandarin Chinese. English speakers are not especially common except in hotels, restaurants and other establishments commonly frequented by tourists.

4.Health in Chongqing
All visitors are suggested to use their own judgment before deciding where to eat and are wise to avoid anywhere that appears obviously unsanitary. Roadside vendors may not have access to running water so the cleanliness of their dishes and eating utensils may be questionable. There are plenty of sanitary venues, however, so it's really not difficult to find somewhere safe to dine if you just take the trouble to be a little discerning.

5. Internet cafes in Chongqing
Internet cafes in Chongqing, just like the hot pots in Chongqing, they are scattered around universities and residential areas with normal computers online (1 to 2 Yuan / hour) and liquid crystal display computers online (3 yuan / hour). Internet cafes, especially around colleges and universities also provide information on the print, DVD, photo scanning business. The morning charges are cheaper than the afternoon and weekdays usually cheaper than the weekend. Small suburban towns have Internet cafes with prices even cheaper, but the speed is relatively slow.

6. Airports and Flights
Chongqing Jianbei Airport is 25km north of Chongqing. 30 minutes by taxi ( around RMB 100 ) and Airport Shuttle buses every half-hour from 6:00am to 6:00pm ( RMB 15 ) starting from Shangqing Si in the city center. Chongqing has daily Chongqing Flights to & from Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Xi'an, Xining, Kunming and more. It has also opened up international regular charter flights to Tokyo, Bangkok, Seoul.

9.Ferry Terminals in Chongqing
There are over 20 piers in Chongqing. Most of the luxury cruise ships dock at Chaotianmen Pier. The Chaotianmen Pier is the starting point of the downstream cruise, near the Jiefangbei, the most famous shopping center in the west China.
