We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Location: Zibo is located in the middle part of Shandong Province, west to the provincial capital of Jinan.

Population: 4,530,000

Area: with an area of 5,965 square kilometers

Nationalities: Han Nationality takes the largest proportion, about 99.87%.

History: With a history of 3,000 years, Zibo used to be the capital of the Qi Kingodm (386-221BC). Throughout its long history, the city has given rise several national-class intangible cultural heritages and relics, such as the birthplace of football and the Qi Kingdom ancient city.

In addition to its ancient cultural wealth, the time-honored city seeks industrial development through innovation. Zibo now hosts national-class bases for new materials, biological medicine, advanced ceramics and colored glass products.

While developing industry, the city is also working to green its landscape. The city's forest area reached 3.2 million hectares, covering 36 percent of its total area, and its urban green coverage rate has reached 42.6 percent.

Climate: Zibo belongs to Humid temperate Monsoon Climate with four district seasons. January and July are respectively the coldest and hottest month during a year. Zibo enjoys 180 to 220 frost-free days and average annual Hours of Sunshine is 2542.6 to 2832.6 hours. Annual average precipitation of Zibo is 640.5 mm.

Transportation: Railway-Zibo Railway Station is situated at Zhongxin Road, Zhangdian, providing train from Zibo to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Weihai, and Jinan, etc.

Highway-Zibo Long-distance is situated at West Xingyuan Road, not far from the railway Station. The buses there departure from Zibo the major cities of China, such as Ningbo, Hanghzou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Nantong, Wuhan and Xuzhou,etc.

Local Specialties: Boshan Artistic Ceramics, Zitengyuan Limpid Wine, Boshan Colored Glaze Ware

Local Food: It is said that the Boshan District in Zibo is the cradle of Lu (Shandong) Cuisine. The popular local delicacies include Zhou Village Pancake, Whole Sheep, Boshan Bean curd, Braised Fish Lips, Duck with Sauce and Boshan Roast Meat. The most featured local food is Boshan Sisi Banquet, with 16 dishes that emphasizes on the soup, cooking style, materials, appearance and the serving methods.
