We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Taipei National Palace Museum

Taipei National Palace Museum (台北故宫博物院), the famous Chinese historical, artistic and cultural museum in Taiwan, is situated in Shuangxi, at the foot of Yangmingshan Mountain, Taipei, Taiwan. It was originally built in 1962, a palatial architecture imitated the style of Beijing Forbidden City. By a stream in front and a hill at the back, beige wall of the museum is covered by light blue vitreous brick and white marble handrails embrace green foundation stone.

Occupying an area of 16 hectares, the main building is divided into flour layers. The first floor is offices, libraries and lecture hall. The second floor displays paintings, bronze, chinaware as well as cultural relics unearthed from Hou Jia Zhuang Cemetery. The third floor is used to show painting and calligraphy, jade ware, sculpture, embroidery, etc. The fourth floor is prepared for theme exhibition.

There are approximately 600,000 collections in the Taipei National Palace Museum, most of which come from Nanjing Central Museum, The Imperial Palace of Qing Dynasty, Shenyang Imperial Palace, Chengde Summer Resort, Baoji-the hometown of bronze and the donation people from all walks of life at home and abroad. All sorts of theme exhibitions are held regularly or irregularly. Vulnerable exhibits such as painting and calligraphy, embroidery are transposed every three monthes.
