History: According to the record, the history of Quzhou could be traced back to 1,800 years ago. As early as Spring and Autumn Period, Quzhou belonged to Yue State. The foundation of Quzhou can be dated back to East Han Dynasty, year 192 A.D., when it was named Xin’an and of county-level. In year 559A.D. Xin’an was enlarged into a shire, which marked the beginning of the leading-county system. In year 621 A.D, Quzhou city was established.
Climate: Under the influence of subtropical monsoon climate, Quzhou has four distinctive seasons, characterized by hot, humid summers and chilly, cloudy, snowy and drier winters. The annual average temperature is between 16.3℃-17.3℃, with monthly daily averages ranging from 5.4 °C in January to 28.7 °C in July. There are an annual average rainfall of 1,705mm. The frost-free period lasts 251-261days.
Transportation: Air-Quzhou Airport is in the east suburb of Quzhou, about 3.08km from the city center. It is ranked as class 4C, providing scheduled airlines to Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Shenzheng.
Railway-Shanghai-Kunming Railway runs through the city. This railway has three stations in city, which are Longyou Station, Quzhou Station, Jiangshan Station.
Highway- Quzhou South Coach Station has bused to Hangzhou, Jinhua, Ningbo, Wenzhou and Shanghai daily. There is another Express Station situated in He Hua Middle Road, on the south of newly built train station. Its destinations cover most cities in Jiangxi Province and Fujian Province.

Attraction: Jianglang Mountain- Jianglang Mountain (江郎山), in the Shimen County, Quzhou city, is a famous national scenic area. In 2008,Jianglang Mountain was listed as a World Natural Heritage for its Danxi Landform. Covering an area of 12 square kilometers, there are three peaks from north to south makeing its recognizable "river-shaped" arrangement, as follows: Lang Feng, Ya Feng and Ling Feng.
