We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Pingxiang Travel Guide

Location: Pingxiang(萍乡), a key industrial city in southern region, is located in the western part of Jiangxi Province, bordering Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan of Hunan Province in the west, Yichun to the east, Ji’an in the south. The city is regarded as a gate opened to the world.

Area: 3,802 Square Kilometers

History: With over 1,700 years of history, Pingxiang, an ancient prefecture-level city, embraces great historic and cultural relics. Besides, the city was also the original place of Labor Movement as well as Qiushou Uprising in China. Numerous talented people had successively generated from here that imbued their influence upon this great land.

It is estimated that Sanmiao Nation had been here for laboring and reproducing in as early as Neolithic period 5000 years ago. During Zhou Dynasty, Pingxiang belonged to Yanghzou, whereas it was successively divided to Wu and Chu in Chunqiu and Warring State. During the period of the Three Period, Sunhao, the emperor of Wu State, established Pingxiang County in the year of 267 A.D..

Pingxiang is a key industrial city, as well as entitled as the central region within Jiangxi Province, the First Opened Inland City, the Civilized City, as well as the National Sanitary City.

Climate: The climate of Pingxiang is feathered by subtropical humid weather with monsoon influence. Besides, Mingyueshan Airport in Yichun has also been opened up lines directed to Beijing, Shenzhen, Kunming, Shanghai, which aims to unload the burden from tourists.

Railways- There are several rail lines running across the city in an attempt to better the convenience of travelling:Line Hangzhou-Zhuzhou, Line Shanghai-Kunming (under construction), Line Hengchaji (running southward to Mount Jinggang and westward to Ji’an), Line Yueyang-Ganzhou and Line Changting-Quanzhou have been under planning so far.

Highways- There is G319 National Highway and G320 National Highway intersected within Pingxiang. In additition, G60 Shanghai-Kunming Highway and G72 Quanzhou-Nanning have been opened up.

Local Specialties: The main specialties are Preserved pork, Southern sweet wine, Xiandan artichoke floor, Haitan green tea, Yanghuzi rice floor and so forth.

Local Foods: Daian winter sticky rice, Changping mutton, Yangqi chicken, Wugong winter bamboo shoots, Hehua Cyprinus Fried eel, Steamed Pork with Rice, Qingming Fruit

Attraction: Mount Wugong (武功山)- Mount Wugong, a national key scenery spot, is located in the middle course of the boundary between Jiangxi Province and Hunan Province, belonging to the north fork of Mount Luoxiang. The mountain includes great water scenery with enormous stream, lakes as well as falls, covered with heavy clouds which even surpass the volume of that of Mount Lu. In addition to being a resort of cloud scenery, the mountain is exactly a natural wildlife park where inhabit a number of important species including sambur, silver pheasant and so forth.

Mount Wugong scenery spot is divided into 5 key zones, namely of District of Jinding Sightseeing and Recreation, District of Yangshimu Sightseeing, District of Mount Jiulong Religion and Culture, District of Falongjie Recreation and District of Primitive Ecology.

Event: Nuo Activities(傩艺活动)- the temple of Nuo will receive its hottest travelling season from the middle of October to the middle of January in the lunar year. There will be exorcising dances and songs performed all day long in 15th January.
