Yellow River Mother Sculpture
Yellow River has always been regarded as the mother river of Chinese civilization. The sculpture was carved out of a huge piece of granite in 1986 in Beijing. It is 6 meters long and 2.6 meters high.
The whole sculpture is composed of a mother and a baby. The mother with long hair slim figure, lying on the on the undulate water looks happy and gentle. A small baby bearing naïve smile is held on her breast. The sculpture implies that the Yellow River has nourished generations of Chinese.
