We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Qigong

As one component of Chinese culture, Qigong (气功) is a sort of exercising method for health caring and preserving by adjusting breath, consciousness and physical activity. Qigong mainly consists of dynamic exercise and static exercise. Dynamic exercise underlines the body’s movement which is a kind of activity combining with consciousness. Static exercise only relies on the control of consciousness and breath without any body’s movement.

Qigong is a physiological variable process which can make the function of organ and the organization of mechanism to be more coordinated and order. Qigong has unique effect on health. The development of Qigong
Qigong originated from China. It has a long history in China which was named tuna, xingqi, buqi, fuqi, daoyin, alchemy, marga-bhavana, etc. in ancient. The theory of classic Chinese Qigong is built on the classic Chinese medical self-cultivation. Masterpieces in relation to Qigong were handed down from the remote age such Lvshi Chunqiu in Qin, medical monograph Huang Di Nei Jing, and so on. The Physical and Breathing Exercise Picture unearthed in Han Tomb of Mawangdui in Changsha, Hunan province was viewed as the earliest atlas about Qigong. It drew 44 pictures which is the portrayal of ancient people to prevent and cure disease by Qigong.

Qigong was originally mentioned in a work named lingjianzi in Jin Dynasty. Plenty of physical terms about Qigong appeared in the book were applied after Song Dynasty. After Jin Dynasty, religions such Taoism prevailed, which made a mystery of Qigong, vanishing the nature of Qigong.


















After Jin and Yuan Dynasties, in order to resist the invasion, Qigong was applied into Kungfu. With the development of Wushu-Qigong, Wudang and Shaoling gradually came into being after Song Dynasty. In 1931, Wang Zhulin officially published the explanation of Qigong in detail, directly with the name of Qigong.

Recently, Qigong was generalized as one part of Chinese medical. Numerous of Qigong sanatoriums are established. The therapy and research of Qigong have made great achievements. The State Sports General Administration Health Qigong Management Center held a national conference on the management of Qigong in Tianjin.
