We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Chinese Acrobatics

Chinese acrobatics is one of the traditional performing arts acrobatics with a long history. It approximately emerged in Neolithic Period. After the Qin Kingdom united China, Chinese ancient wrestling absorbed its merits of every kingdom, and then developed an entertaining acrobatic show - wrestling drama. Up to Han Dynasty, wrestling drama had fuller content, more abundant species and higher skills. To the Eastern Han Dynasty, there formed a kind of acrobatic arts which centered on acrobatics that brings together a variety of performing arts in one of the new breed - "Hundred play" system.

In Northern and Southern Dynasties, as frequent exchanges between ethnic groups in the arts, acrobatics in this period presents eclectic, colorful features. It not only had rich folk foundation, but also had colorful performances in the palace. In Tang Dynasty, some programs have been surprising development. There has been an unprecedented prowess. The "load pole" had the high art, equestrian program also had a great development and animal taming has reached a very high level.

The second is striving for stability in the risk, showing the cool, clever, precise skills and tempered hard effort.

For example, in the program named “weighty barbell”, an actor use his hands and feet at the same time to raise up four stone barbell and eight actors which is more than one thousand catties, showing an amazing power.
The sixth is to use many living tools and instruments of labor which has a rich flavor of life, showing the close relationship between the Chinese acrobatics and working life.
The seventh is the combination of quaint arts and crafts and physical skills. For example, the programs “juggling with jars” and “plate spinning” blend the Chinese painted porcelain arts and acrobatics together.
The eighth feature of Chinese acrobatics is that its content is flexible. Both its performances styles and performance venues show a variety of features.
