We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Description: Tibetan nationality (藏族) mainly distributes in Tibet Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan, Yunnan, etc.. On the basis of the census in 2013, the population of the Tibetan nationality takes up 6,400,000. As one of the most ancient nationalities in China, the history of Tibet is an indivishible part of the whole nation’s.

At the beginning of Seventh century, Tibet got in touch with Tang Dynasty frequently. The Tibetan culture was prosperous from the 10th century to the 16th century. In 1951, Tibet was liberated peacefully.

Language: Tibetan language

Religion: The Tibetan nationality believe in the Buddhism that has a history of more than 1,300 years. Buddhism was introduced into Tibet in the 7th century.


















Clothing Character: Tibetan clothing features with long sleeve, wide waist, long skirt and long boots, which depends on the special ecological environment. The color is various. Their daily clothing is mainly on blue and white, attaching colorful waistband and lace. Hada is viewed as the most precious gift by Tibetans, which a piece of white silk fabric with a length of 1-2meters and a width of 20-30cm.

Tibetan boots is the one of feature of the clothing. Songbalamu boots is the most common. Tibetans pay more attention to accessories made from silver, gold, pearl, jade, agat, feitsui, coral and amber. The headwear is the highlight, which is made from bronze, silver, jade, pearl, etc. and is elegant in design.

Food Culture: Tibetan cuisine has a long history, featuring light taste, without spicy seasoning except for salt and green onion and garlic. Tsamba is an important food for Tibetans. It is made of fried highland barley, pinched into ball with tea, shortening, tsamba and milk dregs.

Air dried meat is the special food of Tibet. In the early winter, beef and mutton are cut into strips, hung at cool and ventilate until the next February and March. The taste is chewy, very special.


















Barley wine is favored by Tibetans regardless of age and sex. It is made from highland barley. Buttered tea is the essential drink for Tibetans.

Festivals: Festival is the main presentation of Tibetan culture. Tibetan festival is greatly affected by Buddhism, which has a history of more than 1300 years in Tibet.

Shoton Festival (雪顿节) is one of the most important festivals. It is held on the 1st, July and lasts for four or five days. Shoton means “yogurt banquet” in English, so just as its name implies, shoton festival is the day to supply yogurt for unblocked Lama from herdsman.

Monlam is the most solemn activities either the religion or folk, held twice a year. The first is on the 15th, lunar June. The second is lasted from the 1st day to the 3rd of the lunar January. on that day, monks and lama put on new kasaya, gather together to chant sutras, then play sorcerer’s dance.
