Thank you so much for the awesome service today! Steven Zhang and the driver, Mr Liu, were great for our trip to Chengdu. Steven was on the platform exactly where we stepped off of the train, and he did a great job as our local guide in Chengdu. The van for the tour was clean and in good condition. Everything was as good as possible. We are so glad we went to Chengdu for the cute giant panda. That was the most wonderful part of the trip. The guide, Steven I think, was the very best. If I have a chance to visit China again, I will use your services again and I also will recommend to all my friends. I'm hoping the coach tours will be a great experience as well.
Thanks again,
Jack Benzel
The Dujiangyan Irrigation System is a pearl in the water works construction of ancient China. Built over 2,200 years ago, it still provides benefits for the local people. Built by Li Bing during the Warring States period, the ancient Dujiangyan Irrigation System is unique and a scientific marvel. It provides the vital passage that joins mountain and plain. The main system consists of three parts: a fish-mouth-like water-dividing dyke, two spillways for discharging flood waters and silt, and a channel cut through Yulei Mountain as a water inlet. These three parts interact and depend on one another, constituting a carefully designed and reasonably arragned water diversion hub that contribute to irrigation, flood control, and shipping.
The Dujiangyan Region has a beautiful landscape and many cultural relics and historical sites, including the Fulong Temple, Erwang Temple, and the trail bridge. All of these, plus moving legends have exerted a great attraction for both domestic and overseas tourists. On November 29, 2000, Dujiangyan Irrigation System was listed as one of the World’s Cultural Heritage by the United Nations Heritage Commission.
