Just a quick email to thank all at Tour Beijing for a wonderful 2 day Chengde tour from Beijing. We have nothing but high praise for your staff and tour guide. The guides spoke English really well and had an amazing knowledge of the local area and history. Our driver was very nice and professional. The hotel in Chengde was good and had a nice location. The hotel staff were were friendly and accommodating. I will be recommending Tour Beijing to anyone visiting China for the tremendous support I received both in person and over the phone. Located in the north of Chengde Summer Resort, the temple was set up in 36 year of Emperor Qianlong (1771). It was built by Emperor Qiaolong for celebrating his mother’s birthday. It means “Potala Palace” in Tibet language as its thoroughly Zang-style. Since it was modeled after the Potala Palace, the temple represents a fusion of Chinese and Tibetan architectural styles. The temple complex covers a surface area of some 220,000 square meters, making it one of the largest in China. Many of its halls and pavilions are adorned with copper and gold tiles roofs, adding to the splendor of the site.
The main architecture, Grand Red Platform is 25 meters high, with a 17 meters high white stone as the groundwork. Wan Fa Gui Hall is in the middle of the platform, coveted by steel tile shaped of golden scale. The ridge ranged all kinds of beasts gorgeously. Once whenever Emperor Qianlong patrolled here, it his must to worship Buddha here.
Temple if Putup Zongheng is one of the Eight Outer Temple in Chengde, and a must for tourist.
