Plan your Beijing tour? Visiting the Great Wall of China is a must during your first trip to Beijing. Now you can either take a walk on the Great Wall or take a helicopter to view the Great Wall from the air. Beijing aerial tour of flyong over the Great Wall is an exhilarating experience that will last for a life-long memory.

At  present, the Capital Helicopter is the only aerial tour operator in Beijing, which affiliated to Hainan Airlines. Hainan Airlines (HNA) is one of the four largest airlines in China and the other three are Air China, China Southern Airlines and China Eastrern Airlines.

The Capital Helicopter utilises the helicopters from Eurocopter inclduing AS350 B3 Squirrel and ES 135. The Eurocopter’s helicopters are reputed for it safety and comfort. For aerial tourism, the Capital Helicopter runs two regular flights – 15 minutes and 30 minutes. They also offer custom helicopter charters to fly your own flight route with the assistance of the flight routes designers from the Capital Helicopter.

The 15-minute flight brings you to see the Badaling Great Wall from the sky and other scenic spots like Guanting Reservoir and Kangxi Grassland in Yanqing County. The helicopter takes off from Badaling Airport and back to the Badaling Airport.

For the 30-minute flight, you are required to take a helicopter from the Capital Helicopter’s helipad at Jianyi Mansion near the fourth ring road. The 30-minute flight makes you enjoy the magnificent Bird’s Net (Olympic Games), Juyongguan Great Wall and Badaling Great Wall, a 120km long flight travel route.

How to Visit Beijing in 8 Days

Saturday, October 20th, 2012

Plan your Beijing tour? Beijing has lots to offer. Though 2 or 3 full days are enough for you to grab the highlights of Beijing, more days are needed to have a good feel of the historical and modern city of Beijing. Today we receive an enquiry from a client named Mrs.Vered. We are amazed by her clear and detailed description for what they want for their 8-day trip to Beijing.  Empowered by internet, a layman could possibly become a destination expert in a relatively short time!

We are much pleased to post her 8-day travel plan with slight modification for new visitors to share, followed by my own version of Beijing 8 day travel arrangement ( day by day ) per their travel plan.

Hello Tour Beijing,

My husband and me are considering to come for a visit in Beijing in mid November for 8 days. We read in your web site about the main attractions and listed them below. We would like also to get out of the city and see some nature (my husband is a botanist), this can be connected with the great wall walk and with the Cuandixia Village visit. Can you please go through this list and let us know if it’s good for 8 days or whether we have missed any interesting attraction (by the way, we don’t like the opera and theater shows….) and prepare for us a 8 days schedule including a quote (no hotels) . In general, we prefer to have a car with a driver and English speaking tour guide.

How many days to visit Beijing

Saturday, October 20th, 2012

If it is your first time to visit Beijing, you may wonder how many days you would need in Beijing, and also need some suggestions of sights to see while in Beijing, aside from the Great Wall and Forbidden City, the two often have been already on your “to do” list.

Beijing has lots to offer. Personally I suggest that 2 full days are the absolute minimum to offer you a really good feel for the city and most of the major attractions if you cannot go for 3, 4 or 5 full days. One day is dedicated to the city highlights of Beijing including Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Summer Palace; the other day is for a full day excursion to the Great Wall of China around Beijing.

Quite a few business travelers cannot afford two days for sightseeing in Beijing. In that case, you can combine Forbidden City with the Great Wall of China in one day tour, the highlight of Beijing tour.

If you can stay in Beijing for 3 or 4 full days, you have more options. You may add more interesting sights to your third day schedule which can cover Panda House, Hutong tour, Lama Temple and Olympic sites. And the list could be much longer.

Before you come to Beijing, make sure you print a map of the subway map. Though very crowded, the subway still remain the most fastest and economic public transport tools traveling Beijing. In addition, you don’t have to worry about losing your direction. Find your hotel and map it on the subway map. You will be able to take the subway to the stops of interest.

Beijing Subway Line 4 brings you to the north gate of Summer Palace; Subway Line 5 takes you to Lama Temple and the east gate of Temple of Heaven; Subway Line 1 brings you to Tiananmen Square and Forbiddden City and S trains from Beijing North Railway Station goes to Badaling Great Wall.

The subway ticket costs only RMB 2 and with that ticket, you can travel from one destination to another destination and just do not go out of the subway before reaching your destination.
