Beijing Old City Day Tour

Itinerary:
Pick-up from your hotel around 8:30. Start your trip with Beijing Panda House which is located in Beijing Zoo southwest of Beijing. There you can see the lovely Giant Pandas.


Then head to Lama Temple ( Yonghe Temple ). It is a temple and monastery of the Geluk School of Tibetan Buddhism. Lama Temple is one of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world. The building of the temple is a blended Han and Tibetan style.


Then move on to Confucian Temple ( Kongmiao ), one of the most important Confucian temples, just after the one in his hometown of Qufu in Shandong Province. The confucius temple was built to pay tribute to confucius in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It was first built in 1309 with a history of more than 600 years. Inside the temple complex there are more than 100 ancient trees and 198 steles in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.


After Chinese lunch, head to to Shichahai area behind Beihai Park for Hutong tour. First take rickshaw going around the deep Hutong in Shichahai area, visiting an ordinary family in a courtyard. Then ascend the drum tower and have a bird's eye view of the old Beijing - Shichahai area.



Finally walk from Drumm Tower to Nanluoguxiang, a lane or hutong with a history of over 700 years dating back to Yuan Dyansty in 13th and 14th century. Running from north to south, this lane is about 800 meters long with 16 hutongs - 8 hutongs on each side of the lane. The lane is now famous for the cafes and bars and clothing and handcraft shops that line its hutong laneways as well as its traditional hutong and courtyards (siheyuan).


After your tour of Nanluoguxiang, you have two choices: either transferred back to your hotel in Beijing or enjoy your happy time at Naluoguxiang for the rest of the time.

Booking Note:

1. Hutong Tour:
When traveling the old hutong in the Shichahai area, two people are arranged to share one pedicab. Local rickshaw company will arrange an English tour guide to escort you for the short pedicab trip. The pedicab drivers are very willing to stop for your taking photos. This Old Beijing tour will give you some insights into a "real"Beijinger"'s life. The pedicab drivers are pleasant and work very hard to make a living. Please tip the pedicab driver. They don't make much and depend mainly on tips.
2. This is an exclusive private day Tour. Once your tour is confirmed, that tour will no longer be available to anyone else except for your own traveling party.
3. Normally Hotel Pickup is available if you are staying at a hotel within Beijing fourth ring road. For home pickup or stay far from the downtown, please contact our trip advisor for more information.
4. If you want to prolong your one day tour, you are kindly requested to pay extra tour expense after contacting your trip advisor from our tour company.

6. All the drivers have the official licenses with over 5 years' driving experience. All drivers select the most dynamic route, observe local traffic regulations. Refrain from smoking, eating and drinking in the passenger's presence.

8. We offer Chinese lunch. Usually the tourist meals have a bad name. But we try our best to improve the quality of the lunch on the tour.
9. We do arrange one shopping on the tour. Chinese tourist shops have a very bad name on the internet. Actually the things are not so bad as it is. The shopping stops are nice places for you to relax and at the same time to make use of the short time to familiarize yourself with the local products as well as help create more jobs for local people. The shopping is not compulsory.
